About the Brand
Aluma has been building high-quality aluminum trailers since 1992, when Dean Maschoff built his first trailer as a favor for some friends. Because aluminum trailers are lighter and can last longer than steel, Maschoff’s homemade trailers increasingly gained popularity. This led Maschoff to start a small company to help build and sell his trailers, and Aluma came to be.
The first Aluma manufacturing facility was established in 1995 in Bancroft, Iowa. Although Aluma trailers are still manufactured in Iowa today, Maschoff made the decision to focus on design and sold the business in 2000. However, the new owners, KLM Acquisition Company, have upheld the quality and customer focus that Aluma is known for.
Additionally, Aluma Trailers continue to be American made. The trailers are still built with an all-aluminum welded construction and the company continues to value safety, efficiency, and durability. Aluma trailers have made a name for themselves with their strong rust-free aluminum that guarantees long-lasting quality.
Though the first manufacturing facility only employed five people and produced two trailers a day, it has since expanded significantly. Aluma continues to be manufactured in Iowa, but today they build over 300 trailers per week and ship them to all 50 states and across North and South America.
